Louise and I discussed my wants and needs regarding my next step in my career and she understood exactly what my requirements were when putting me forward for the role. She ensured that I was a good fit for the interview and also made sure I knew exactly what the role entailed. I have appreciated her honesty throughout my engagement with her regarding potential roles and am delighted my journey with Louise led me to being a successful candidate for a clinical nurse specialist position.

Brenda was an absolute pleasure to work with. Diligent and attentive to detail, she got me and my priorities from the get go and never tried to sell me a role that wasn’t going to be good for me in the long run. I ‘d highly recommend Brenda.

Frequently Asked Questions

What nursing jobs are available in Ireland?

TTM recruits for the full range of nursing roles across Ireland, including staff nurse, clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse manager, advanced nurse practitioner, and specialist roles in mental health, intellectual disability, paediatrics, ICU, theatres, oncology, emergency, and community nursing. Roles are available on an agency, locum, and permanent basis across public, private and voluntary healthcare organisations nationwide.

What is the difference between agency nursing, locum nursing and permanent nursing?

Agency nursing and locum nursing are terms that are often used interchangeably in Ireland — both refer to flexible, shift-based work where you are placed into a healthcare setting through a recruitment agency rather than employed directly by the organisation. The key benefit is flexibility: you choose when and where you work. Permanent nursing roles offer a fixed contract with a single employer, a set location, and the stability of direct employment benefits. TTM recruits for all three, and our consultants can talk you through which option suits your circumstances and career goals best.

How do I register as a nurse in Ireland with NMBI?

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is the statutory body regulating nursing in Ireland. All nurses must be NMBI registered to practise. The process involves creating an account on the NMBI online portal, submitting your application with supporting documents, and paying the registration fee. For nurses who qualified in Ireland, processing typically takes four to eight weeks. For internationally qualified nurses, the process takes longer as qualifications are assessed for equivalency. From 2026, TTM reimburses the NMBI registration fee for TTM agency nurses — terms and conditions apply. Read our full NMBI registration guide here.

Can I work as a nurse in Ireland if I qualified abroad?

Yes, in many cases. Nurses who qualified outside Ireland must apply to NMBI for registration, which includes an assessment of whether your qualifications meet Irish standards. EU-qualified nurses benefit from mutual recognition of qualifications. Nurses from outside the EU follow a separate assessment route. English language proficiency — IELTS 7.0 or OET grade B — is required where English is not your first language.

What specialist nursing roles does TTM recruit for?

TTM recruits across all major nursing specialisms in Ireland, including mental health nursing, intellectual disability nursing, paediatric nursing, ICU and critical care, theatre nursing, oncology, emergency nursing, neonatal, and community and public health nursing. Whether you are looking for agency shifts that suit your specialism or a permanent specialist role, our nursing consultants have the expertise and client network to match you with the right opportunity.

What locations does TTM cover for nursing jobs?

TTM recruits for nursing roles across the full island of Ireland. We have active vacancies and strong client relationships in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Kerry, Wexford, and all other counties. Whether you want to work close to home or are open to relocating, our team can find the right opportunity in your preferred location. Search nursing jobs by location here.
