TTM’s Assessment of Need Service: A Guide for Parents and Guardians
TTM Healthcare Solutions has a specialist team that conducts Assessments of Need on behalf of HSE Community Healthcare Organisations.
Our support helps reduce the length of time parents and guardians wait to get the right diagnosis for their child. In turn, it helps parents and guardians gain access to the relevant interventions and therapies their child needs.

About TTM’s Assessment of Need Team
Our clinical team comprises psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists and physiotherapists.
The clinical team is supported by a team of dedicated clerical officers, schedulers and compliance experts whose work is all under the supervision of our operations manager. They work hard to ensure the process runs smoothly and you are kept informed every step of the way.
Our Assessment of Need team is part of our Healthcare Process Outsourcing division. It has extensive experience in working seamlessly with healthcare organisations to support and enhance their services, so you can rest assured we have the relevant procedures and protocols in place to safeguard you and your child.
For example, every clinician on the team has the relevant qualifications and experience needed to conduct Assessments of Need in line with the HSE’s own criteria. A Full compliance file will be completed prior to any clinician commencing work, inclusive of garda vetting’s recent references and all relevant training certificates. We review every clinician’s file every two months to ensure their training certificates remain current.

How Our Assessment of Need Service Works
We have a robust process to complete every Assessment of Need, helping you to get the answers you need as quickly as possible.
Here is what to expect -
1. Your Community Healthcare Organisation will ask for your consent for your child’s Assessment of Need to be carried out by our team.
2. Once you have given your consent, they will pass your child’s files to our team.
3. When we have your child’s files, we will get in touch with you to introduce ourselves, explain the process and arrange an appointment for the assessment.
4. Before your appointment, we will ask you to complete a Case History and work with your child’s school/preschool on a School Report. The information you provide will be invaluable to the clinicians who will conduct your child’s assessment.
5. Your appointment will take place in a Community Healthcare Organisation setting. It will have everything required to conduct the assessment as outlined in the Disability Act 2005.
6. After your appointment, the clinical team will write the report and submit it to our administration team within 7 days for auditing for quality and content.
7. We will get in touch with you to arrange a feedback meeting with your clinician before the report is released. This meeting takes place online or by phone.
8. We will release the final report to you and your Community Healthcare Organisation.
9. To help us continually improve our service, we will send you a satisfaction survey to ask for feedback on our communication, standard of assessments and the clinical team.
10. Our liaison officers will ensure that appropriate referrals are in place if your child has a diagnosed disability and manage the provision of any support that is needed.
