TTM Healthcare have a requirement for Support Workers and Social care workers for One of our Services in Ballina in Co. Mayo.


Location: Ballina Co Mayo
Type of Worker: Support Workers
Hours Available: Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm

Ages Range from 21- 65 years old

This is a state of the art service and has excellent potential to go permanent after 3 months,


Training requirements are as follows:
• Patient Moving and Handling
• MAPA
• Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
• Child Protection
• CPR/First Aid
• Fire Safety
• Full driving Licence Required.

We are looking to speak with candidates that have experience as a Support worker, Healthcare Assistant, Special Needs Assistant, Social Care Workers, Care Assistants and those with relevant life experience. This role is in a Residential Unit in Enniscorthy with full time hours available per week. Due to planned growth and expansion within the services in the coming year, successful candidates will also have the opportunity to consider a full time permanent position should they meet the requirements.

This Services purpose is to enhance the quality of people's lives. They provide services across Ireland with their Social Care services supporting people with disabilities in residential, shared care, outreach and day service settings. Their main aim is to ensure they are offering a safe and happy environment for employees, while giving individuals the tools to grow and progress in order to reach their goals. Resilience pride themselves on their dedicated team who will be on site to guide and support you through an in-depth induction period and throughout the role.


About the Roles
Support Workers will provide support to Young adults and adults with an intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities. Some of the individuals they support will present with challenging behaviours or behaviours that concern. You will work alongside an experienced team in assisting service users with the activities of their daily living. Working hand in hand with service users to promote and maintain their independence, building the day around the service users needs and supporting individualised plans based on their needs and interests.

9 service users in the unit. broken up into 3 pods, 3 service users in each with 1 staff
pod 1 - 3 males, like being active, gardening, socialising, going on walks
pod 2 - deaf service users, staff need sign language so agency staff wouldnt work here
pod 3 - service users that need 1 to 1 care, 1 has epilepsy, needs help with feeding dressing, use of hoists, etc


What Will Your Responsibilities Be?
• The delivery of client care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of Support Plans;
• Ensure that practices within the service comply with Resilience's policies and procedures, to maintain the highest standards;
• Liaise with Multi-Disciplinary Teams ('MDTs') when required;
• Provide support to colleagues within the team setting;
• Act as a mentor for new staff and foster a positive learning environment;
• Participate in the development and review of risk assessments and report concerns.

What is Required?
You will have:
• Minimum of 12 months previous experience working with adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disability;
• Experience working with service users with Autism and Epilepsy;
• FETAC level 5/Social Care qualification or equivalent;
• Completed or be willing to complete a Patient Manual Handling course;
• Eligibility to work in Ireland;
• A strong sense of empathy, flexibility and a team-oriented work ethic.
• A Full Drivers Licence is essential.
