TTM are currently assembling a relief panel to work with our client - a residential service, providing care to adults with intellectual disabilities, in Rosslare, Co. Wexford.
Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced Support Workers to work alongside people with intellectual disabilities. This role would involve assisting service users in all the activities of daily living. The service consists of 5 service users.
The vast majority of the shifts required will be for long day, e.g. 8am-8pm or 9am-8pm. There will be very little night shifts.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of a FETAC 5 in Healthcare or a Social Care Degree - Level 7 minimum.
Previous experience in a caring/support/ monitoring role working with children and adults who present with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Knowledge of HIQA standards.
Have fluent written and spoken English and excellent report writing skills.
Be available for a minimum of 27 hours per week.
Training requirements are as follows:
• Patient Moving and Handling
• Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
• Child Protection
• MAPA (Units 1-10)
The Service Manager is keen to induct suitable and interested candidates as soon as possible.
It is expected those who are suitable, will work as part of the relief panel, covering periods of annual leave, and the ongoing staffing shortfalls on the roster, which are causing an issue at the moment
