Our client is an intellectual disability service offering support for people with intellectual disabilities. The aim of our client's service is for people with intellectual disability and physical or sensory disabilities is to promote and maintain better health both in the person with a disability and their carer. Our client delivers day services, respite care, residential services, and home support.
Our client situated in Rathmore Co Kerry is looking for a staff nurse to join them on a full-time perm basis. The role of the Staff Nurse is to provide holistic, person-centred nursing care, promoting optimum independence, enhancing the quality of life for the people we support with intellectual, physical, or sensory disability in all aspects of daily living.

Duties and Responsibilities
• The Professional Code of Conduct as laid down by the Nursing Board (An Bórd Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais)
• Develop and maintain close links with the people we support, family / guardians ensuring a partnership approach.
• Act as an advocate for the person and their families and provide information to empower them in decision making, goal setting and problem solving to optimise their contribution and facilitate their participation in community-based activities.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of orientation and teaching programmes both for students and other health care staff.
• Identify and contribute to the continual enhancement of learning opportunities.
• Accept overall responsibility for and co-ordinate the management of care in an assigned area.
• Supervise and work with other grades of staff within the remit of his / her role and co-ordinate and contribute to the inter-disciplinary team approach to person centred care.
