ASAP start, 2/3 month contract initially

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within this role will be to

• Be responsible for the delivery of the Social Work service to Peamount services based within the Rehabilitation units
• Take direct responsibility for a defined caseload as directed by the Principal Social Worker
• Ensure effective caseload management and prioritisation
• Ensure the implementation of models of best practice/evidence based practice in the context of multi-disciplinary service delivery
• Be competent in discharge planning
• Ensure the delivery of social work services in an integrated and multidisciplinary manner with a range of statutory and voluntary groups and organisations
• Ensure the delivery of social work services in accordance with legislation, policies procedures and protocols
• Provide counselling and practical support to patients/residents and their families
• Ensure the delivery of social work services in accordance with legislation, policies, procedures and protocols
• Keep updated on current and impending legislation and the perceived impact on practice
• Implement and maintain the high standards in social work practice
• Comply with supervision requirements as determines by the Principal Social Worker in relation to casework intervention, practice and work plans
• Take an active role in an appropriate level of panned professional supervision in accordance with the local/national supervision policy
• Attend relevant meetings, case conferences and care planning meetings
• Ensure that clear, concise social work records are maintained in a professional manner in keeping with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act/GDPR and police
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of Peamount policies and procedures
• Perform such duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal Social Worker
• Fully comply with social work national registration requirements within the specified timeframes
• Participate as an active member of the Social Work department
• Attend social work team meetings as required
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of social work policies and procedures for the Social Work department
• Co-operate with social work and other MDT members in planning, implementing and evaluating service delivery
• Contribute as required in service-related working groups, research project sand service committees, as requested/advised by the Principal Social Worker


THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need:

• A recognised qualification as a Social Worker.
• Full CORU registration.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environment.
• Professional approach to work
• Flexibility in work practice
• Ability to demonstrate sufficient professional knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage self in un a busy working environment including the ability to prioritise caseloads.
• Excellent communications skills with children and adults.
• Access to a car and full drivers' licence.
