Locum Social Worker - Donegal
ASAP start, 8-month contract initially
THE BACKGROUND:
At TTM Healthcare we are proud to have partnered with the HSE in recruiting a Professionally Qualified Social Worker for the Older Persons Team in Co. Donegal.
They have an available opportunity for a Social Worker who displays and delivers their passion for working in Social Work environments, to work a 2-day week as per a job-sharing rota.
This opportunity will be based out of the Letterkenny/Ballyshannon area. Location of base is flexible, as are the days chosen to work.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The overall responsibility within this role will be to
• Provide direct point of access for the local community/designated service area and offer initial and holistic social assessment and intervention to individuals and families.
• Manage and prioritise caseload appropriate to the post.
• Identify service user's individual and collective needs in partnership with them and create early interventions and/or social action strategies to meet those needs.
• Provide supportive counselling, emotional and practical support and information to the service users and their families.
• Make it possible for service users to advocate their own needs, or where appropriate advocate on behalf of service users.
• Assess where social conditions are a major factor in health and social wellbeing consult and plan with the service user/relevant team/service and arrange appropriate social services for those who need them
• Deliver social work service in collaboration with other disciplines/agencies as required, in appropriate settings reflecting the needs of the service user.
• Attend case conferences, meetings and other relevant for a as required.
• Attend court, tribunals, etc. as required.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the role, you will need:
• A recognised qualification as a Social Worker.
• Full CORU Registration.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environment.
• Professional approach to work
• Flexibility in work practice.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of social work experience as relevant to the role.
• Excellent communications skills with children and adults.
• Access to a car and full drivers' licence.
