THE OPPORTUNITY:
Locum role working 4 days per week initially, for a 6-month period.
This role includes working 2 days with the Young Adult Mental Health Services team (YAMHS) in Portlaoise and 2 days with the Child Adult Mental Health Services team (CAMHS) in Tullamore.



THE BACKGROUND:

Professionally Qualified Social Worker immediately required by TTM Healthcare on behalf of the designated Young Adult Mental Health Services team in Portlaoise, responsible for delivering a broad range of community mental health services to 16-18 year olds and their families. This role will also include working 2 days on the CAMHS team in Tullamore, the team responsible supporting children and young adults with mental health difficulties.

They have an available opportunity for a Social Worker with Mental Health-setting experience, and experience in engaging in direct work with young people and their families.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within this role will be to

• Provide a Social Work service as part of the wider Multidisciplinary Team that seeks to improve the health and social wellbeing of the service users through the implementation of an accessible, equitable, person-centred service.
• Provide assessment and treatment to service users and their families where service user is expecting mental health difficulties.
• Actively participate as a member of the Social Work department in team building and change initiatives as required.
• Provide family bases interventions when appropriate.
• Ensure that any risks to the service user's safety are identified and managed appropriately in collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary team under the leadership of the Consultant Psychiatrist.
• Participate in the working groups/communities/clinical audits as requested by the Principal Social Worker.
• Promote a culture that values diversity and respect in the workplace
• Attend clinical supervision on a regular basis and engage in reflective practice and on-going Continuous Professional Development, in accordance with local/national Supervision police and CORU requirements.


THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need:

• A recognised qualification as a Social Worker.
• Full CORU registration.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environment.
• Professional approach to work.
• Flexibility in work practice.
• Excellent communications skills with children and adults.
• Demonstrate effective team work skills
• Demonstrate a willingness to develop IT skills relevant to the role
• Access to a car and full driver's licence.
