THE OPPORTUNITY:
Full time locum role working Monday to Friday 37 hours per week.
This role is for 3 - 6 months on a Mental Health Team within Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Service.
THE BACKGROUND:
Professionally Qualified Social Workers immediately required by TTM Healthcare on behalf of the designated Mental Health Team within Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Service, responsible for improving the mental health, wellbeing and outcomes for service users based in Sligo/Leitrim.
We have an available opportunity for Social Workers with excellent Mental Health experience, skills and knowledge who display and deliver their passion for working in a Social Work environment.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The overall responsibility within this role will be to
• Provide initial and psycho-social assessments of the needs of service users and their families.
• Deliver therapeutic programmes and interventions to individuals, families and carers in order to meet those needs.
• Manage and prioritise a caseload appropriate to the post.
• Provide supportive counselling, emotional and practical support, and information to service users and their families.
• Promote independence, self-reliance, self-determination and empowerment with persons in their environment, with families and local groups.
• Work within current legislation, relevant policies and procedures, guidelines and protocols as laid down by the employer.
• Incorporate Social Work values and ethical principles in planning, developing, implementing and reviewing interventions.
• Keep the Line Manager fully informed and up to date on all significant matters.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the role, you will need:
• A recognised qualification as a Social Worker.
• Registration with CORU
• Ability to adapt to changing work environment.
• Professional approach to work
• Flexibility in work practice
• To be able demonstrate social work experience as relevant to the role, including delivering supportive treatment interventions and working in a therapeutic context with service users and their families,
• Excellent communications skills with children and adults.
• Access to a car and full drivers' licence.
