TTM Healthcare are recruiting a panel of experienced Social Care Workers to work in a Day Service in a leading Intellectual Disability Service on a locum basis in Charleville, Mallow, Bruff and Kilmallock in West Limerick and North Cork with an Immediate Start.


Job Summary:
We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced Social Care Workers to work alongside people with intellectual disabilities. This role would involve assisting service users in all the activities of daily living.
You would need to facilitate service users to maintain and promote their independence and to care for the day to day needs of the residents.

Job Type/Category:
This job is for qualified, experienced Social Care Workers to work in a leading Intellectual Disability Service on a locum basis as agency staff. Candidates Must be Available all 5 days of the week in this Day Service from Monday to Friday

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
  • QQI in Healthcare level 5 or Equivilant.
  • Previous experience in a caring/support/ monitoring role working with children and adults who present with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • Have the ability to interact successfully on a one to one basis with clients of various backgrounds & disabilities.
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards.
  • Have fluent written and spoken English and excellent report writing skills.
  • Must be available 5 days a week
  • Full Driving License is desirable

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • To establish and maintain relationships with the residents which are based on respect and equality and promote their independence.
  • Physical care helping those that require assistance in such tasks as dressing, washing, etc.
  • Teaching daily living & social skills to the residents
  • Assist residents with budgeting, banking and management of their personal finances
  • Facilitating residents to use their leisure time tailored to their needs, with an emphasis on community integration.
  • Housekeeping cooking, shopping, cleaning, looking after each resident's clothes and effects and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the residence.
  • To be an active member of the day/residential team and attend meetings/case conferences.

  • Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults.
  • Train the Trainer
