Drogheda, 12-month contract initially

At TTM Healthcare we are proud to have partnered with CAMHS - the HSE specialist service for dedicated to and responsible for improving the wellbeing and outcomes for people under the age of 18 with mental health difficulties.

They have an available opportunity in Drogheda for a Social Care Team Leader with excellent experience, skills and knowledge to provide a social care service within a multidisciplinary team in the Louth/Meath Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within this role will be to
• Work as part of multidisciplinary team providing assessment and intervention with young people and their families.
• Liaise with other relevant statutory and voluntary services.
• Treat children/young people and their families with dignity and respect, promoting a culture of unconditional positive regard at all times.
• Ensure clinical records are properly and accurately maintained and that appropriate statistical information is provided.
• Seek the advice of relevant personnel as required.
• Take an active role in supervision in accordance with the local/national supervision policy.
• Provide supervision to Social Care Worker staff as appropriate.
• Contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming, safe, caring, stable and therapeutic environment.
• Plan, implement and evaluate care plans, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the written and verbal reporting of general and individual treatment programmes.
• Recognise children / young people as expert through experience, promoting their participation in care planning, decision-making and service delivery.
• Develop an understanding of how previous life experiences impact on children / young people and incorporate this into their practice.
• Work in partnership with the parent, family, and other agencies on behalf of the child / young person.
• Participate in meetings in relation to the child / young person and their family.
• Work as a key worker for the child / young person as required.
• Be a positive role model for children / young people.
• Attend court if required.
• Attend a range of meetings including case conferences as required.
• Accept any responsibilities in relation to children / young people as agreed within the multidisciplinary team and to undertake individual and group work with these young people.
• Keep the Principal Social Worker fully informed and up to date on all significant matters.
• Perform other duties appropriate to the role as may be assigned by the Principal Social Worker.


THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need:

• An Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Care Studies OR Social Care OR Social Care Practice awarded by a recognised body.
• Diploma in Applied Social Studies/Social Care from DIT
• 3 years' experience of working with children and young people in crisis desirable.
• The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environment.
• Professional approach to work
• Flexibility in work practice
• Excellent communications skills with children and adults.
