TTM Healthcare Solutions are currently working for one of Ireland's Leading Radiation Therapy Hospitals based in Dublin in search of a Radiation Therapist to come and join their team/ The Radiation Therapists here are required to carry out all duties of a radiation therapist in order to provide an efficient and effective service to patients. Radiation Therapists may rotate through the various areas of the radiotherapy department including the treatment delivery, planning incorporating CT / MRI simulation, contouring and treatment planning. Radiation Therapists are responsible for scheduling patients for their procedures, collation of patient information and plan checking. Currently there are 14 linear accelerators within the Network, 4 in each of centres.

Key responsibilities

•Deliver radiotherapy services (pre-treatment and treatment) to patients in accordance with SLRON policies and procedures
•Relay and communicate information as required to patients and other staff.
•Participate in the education process of patients about their disease, treatment plans, side effects and outcomes.
•Quality assurance and calibration on a regular basis as required.
•Maintain accurate records of equipment service, maintenance, malfunction and down time.
•Contribute to the development and implementation of procedures and protocols within the radiotherapy department.
•Develop and maintain a quality assurance program for the department and participate in audits.
•Participate in an on call rota.
•Adhere to SLRON incident management procedures

Requirements:

•Be registered on Radiation Therapists Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.
•Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
•Demonstrate evidence of a good overview of the service and the reporting structures within it
•Demonstrate evidence-based clinical knowledge
•Excellent Communication skills with both patients and colleagues
