Plumber/ Maintenance Technician required by TTM Healthcare, on behalf of a North Dublin based hospital.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will maintain plumbing and mechanical maintenance in the hospital. Your secondary duties are to check plant equipment daily, to ensure its smooth running and effective use to minimise disruption to the hospital. You will also be required to carry out none mechanical maintenance from time to time.
This is a full-time, permanent post, working 39 hours per week.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
·To carry out daily P.P.M checks on plant equipment.
·To be the Authorised Person on medical gases (when appropriate training has been received).
·To ensure legionella checks are carried out regularly and all steps are taken to ensure negative results.
·To ensure the effective use of water treatment systems.
·The ensure the control of the Contractors work on site e.g. Hot Work Permits, Isolating medical gases and ensuring correct procedures are followed.
·To provide an on call support service on a rota system.
·To carry out day to day plumbing, fitting and mechanical repairs as required.
·To provide feed back to Head of Department on completion of jobs and advice if there is a problem in completing a task.
·To follow in-house policies, procedures and guidelines.
·To ensure high standard of work and good house keeping at all times.
·To ensure that work areas are double locked at close of day.
·To carry out day to day maintenance duties, which are assigned to you by the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager.
·To assign duties to appropriate staff when on annual leave and advise Technical Services Manager.
·To implement quality standards ensuring that a quality service is provided all times.
·To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.
Requirements:
Have served a recognised apprenticeship
Minimum 5 years' experience as a plumber in a large institutional complex
Previous experience working in a live hospital is desirable
Previous experience working on Medical gas systems is desirable
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
