Person in Charge Required
Location: Sligo
Contract: Specific Purpose 7 -12 months
Salary: Negotiable pending experience
Our client is a community facility designed for three residents and provides extended /long term care; to young persons between 8 and 20 years of age with varying conditions, abilities and disabilities. These include residents with a cognitive impairment, residents with physical, neurological and sensory impairments and residents with mental health needs. Our client is looking for a person in charge to join them on a specified purpose contract for 7 months.
This post may suit someone who is looking to take the next step from Clinical Nurse Manager to PIC.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure that an environment is created that is conducive to the wellbeing of the residents and staff.
• To ensure that the high standards of professional care are maintained at all times.
• To create and maintain good inter-personal relationships in all areas of work.
• Initiating, maintaining and co-ordinating care, training, treatment and education programmes for young people.
• Undertaking all aspects of home management and ensuring all staff are familiar with HIQA regulations and prepared for announced or unannounced inspections
• Maintaining good organisation in the house at all times, especially in housekeeping, cleanliness, and hygiene.
• To provide effective leadership for staff within the house.
• To promote integration within the local community.
• Ensuring that staff within the house are aware of the proper use and care of all equipment, and keeping inventories of all supplies, stocks, and provisions.
• Encouraging and participating, where appropriate, in social and recreational activities within and outside of the house.
• Keeping professionally competent, keeping training needs analysis up to date.
• Participating in in-service training and attending professional meetings as required.
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse with the NMBI
• Have a minimum of three year's post graduate experience in a management or supervisory role in health or social care.
• Demonstrated experience and skill working with adults with Autism / Intellectual Disability
• Experience of working with individuals with behaviours of concern.
• Full clean driving licence
