TTM Healthcare are offering an exciting new permanent opportunity and welcome applications from Staff Nurses who are seeking a new permanent career on a part time or full time permanent contract.

We have partnered with an international voluntary organisation who provide services for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. We are assisting our client with the on-boarding and selection of Staff Nurses for their Galway City and County Galway Services.

Contract:
Permanent full time/part time

Hours:
The successful Staff Nurse will work up to 39 hours per week based on a 7 day/night duty roster.

The successful candidate will be required to be completely flexible and will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, night duty and programme hours to meet service needs. The successful candidate will act up for the Team Leader in their absence and also may be the senior person on duty for management cover and support to work colleagues at evenings and weekends throughout their services.

Main Responsibilities
• Take responsibility for the supply, storage, stock and administration of medications in accordance with the policy of the Service.
• Take part in the education and training of staff members in responsible and safe medication management and carry out practical assessments of their
competence in their area of work.
• Develop a good working relationship with families and key people involved in the lives of the individuals that we support, as appropriate.
• Actively pursue and ensure the delivery of a person centred service, through the delivery of Personal Outcomes. Be involved as a Key worker and assist new staff in this role. Record and monitor outcomes and track progress.
• Formulate and implement programmes designed for the needs of the individual, in co-operation with the multidisciplinary team as required.
• Assist individuals with personal banking and adhering to the National Guidelines on managing individual finances.
• Devise appropriate programmes of activity for the individual in line with their expressed or felt needs and desires.
• Keep appropriate records relating to the individuals supported by the services, including individual person plans, medication management plans, care plans, personal outcomes assessments and reviews.
• Promote community integration and maximum participation for individuals.
• Induct Support and Supervise and direct the work of other staff including support workers as required.
• Provide feedback and direction as required.
• Also provide support for development through support and supervision meetings.
• Organise staff cover as required.
• Act up for the Team Leader if required.
• Driving the service vehicle is an essential requirement in order to meet the needs of the people we support.
• Escort persons supported on transport as required.

Applicant Criteria:
• Applicants must be on the Live register of An Bord Altranais (RNID ideally)
• Must hold a full, clean driver's licence
• Have previous experience working in Residential Care preferably with Adults with Learning Disabilities
