THE OPPORTUNITY:
Healthcare Assistant, North & South Kerry

THE BACKGROUND:

As the National Supplier of Temporary and Permanent staff to the HSE, we are now looking to increase our locum panel of Healthcare Assistants in Kerry. We are proud to have partnered with St John of Gods.
Our team of HCAs currently work across multiple wards and locations across the hospital providing support to patients in the areas of 1:1 specialling, general patient care and nursing support.
The hospital provides 318 beds, of which 217 are in-patient acute beds, while 25 are reserved for acute day cases. The hospital also offers free on-site parking for all agency staff as well as free Wi-Fi. The location is well provided for by public transport which helps our team get to work on time every time.
We are now seeking to recruit 30 additional HCAs to work on a consistent basis alongside our existing team to offer increasing support to this hospital's front-line service.

Interested applicants must be available for 12-hour day and night shifts between Monday and Sunday.

Supported Living Service Tralee requires the following staffing:
Social Care and/or HCA
Supported Living Model is a residential service through apartment living. Our aim is to promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in mainstream settings, advocate for each individual's unique talents and encourage partnership between individuals and communities. In Supported Living Services we strive to deliver the highest standard of care and support to each person, while providing privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
Current shifts patterns available include evening shifts Monday to Friday, Full day shifts Saturday and Sunday and sleepover/night duty shifts 7 days a week.

Community Residential Houses Tralee
Social care workers and/or HCA
Houses vary from small teams to lone working houses.
We provide residential living through community houses. Our aim is to promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in mainstream settings, advocate for each individual's unique talents and encourage partnership between individuals and communities. In Supported Living Services we strive to deliver the highest standard of care and support to each person, while providing privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

Shift patterns include evening shifts with Sleepover 7 days a week along with day shifts on the weekend.


THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job is for agency Healthcare Assistants and candidates would need to be flexible and available for a range of shifts, throughout the week. Your role would involve working as part of a team of Healthcare Assistants to provide quality care to meet the needs of patients while guided by Nursing staff. Shift allocation can range from specialing to nursing support, depending on the needs of the service.


Your Educational Responsibilities:
A minimum of a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/ Pre-nursing Studies. (All 8 Modules complete, 120 Credits).




Your Communication Responsibilities:
Fluent written and spoken English and excellent report writing skills.


Your Health and Safety Responsibilities:
In order to work in a Healthcare setting you must have the appropriate level of immunisation protection in order to proceed. Candidates will need evidence of full immunity for the following inoculations:

• Hepatitis B - full course complete with Titre level confirming immunity
• MMR X 2 - Proof of Vaccination dates essential (Mumps, Measles, Rubella)
• Tuberculosis
• Varicella

THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• A minimum of a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/ Pre-nursing Studies. (All 8 Modules complete, 120 Credits).
• Must have eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Have a minimum of 3 months recent experience in a caring/support/specialing role.
• Have fluent written & spoken English.
• Full vaccination record.
• Must have (or be willing to complete) training as required.
