THE OPPORTUNITY:
Healthcare Assistant, Tallaght University Hospital - Temporary

THE BACKGROUND:
As the National Supplier of Temporary and Permanent staff to the HSE, we are now looking to increase our locum panel of Healthcare Assistants in Southwest Dublin. We are proud to have partnered with Tallaght University Hospital, one of Ireland's largest acute hospitals located in southwest Dublin. The hospital is a public hospital owned and managed by the Health Service Executive and is a member of the Dublin Hospital Group.Our team of HCAs currently work across multiple wards and locations across the hospital providing support to patients in the areas of 1:1 specialing, general patient care and nursing support.
The location is well provided for by public transport which helps our team get to work on time every time. A number Dublin Buses serve the hospital, including bus 27, 54A, 65, 75, 76, 76A and 77A.
The hospital is also easily accessible through the Luas Red Line starting at Connolly Station, running through Middle Abbey Street, Heuston Station, and finishing in Tallaght. The Hospital is adjacent to the second last stop on this line, aptly named, "Hospital". Trams run daily at regular intervals.
The hospital is easily accessible from the M50 motorway at exit 11 for those travelling by car. The hospital provides a multi-story car park with competitive rates and flexible monthly passes available.
We are now seeking to recruit 10 additional HCAs to work on a consistent basis alongside our existing team to offer increasing support to this hospital's front-line service.

Interested applicants must be available for 12-hour day and night shifts between Monday and Sunday.
Shift times run 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am but are not exclusive to these times.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job is for agency Healthcare Assistants and candidates would need to be flexible and available for a range of shifts, throughout the week. Your role would involve working as part of a team of Healthcare Assistants to provide quality care to meet the needs of patients while guided by Nursing staff. Shift allocation can range from specialing to nursing support, depending on the needs of the service.


Your Educational Responsibilities:
A minimum of a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/ Pre-nursing Studies. (All 8 Modules complete, 120 Credits).




Your Communication Responsibilities:
Fluent written and spoken English and excellent report writing skills.


Your Health and Safety Responsibilities:
In order to work in a Healthcare setting you must have the appropriate level of immunisation protection in order to proceed. Candidates will need evidence of full immunity for the following inoculations:

• Hepatitis B - full course complete with Titre level confirming immunity
• MMR X 2 - Proof of Vaccination dates essential (Mumps, Measles, Rubella)
• Tuberculosis
• Varicella

THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for the role, you will need to:

• A minimum of a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/ Pre-nursing Studies. (All 8 Modules complete, 120 Credits).
• Must have eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Have a minimum of 3 months recent experience in a caring/support/specialing role.
• Have fluent written & spoken English.
• Full vaccination record.
• Must have (or be willing to complete) training as required.
