THE, ORGANISATION.
Cahercalla Community Hospital and Hospice is a long established 112 bed nursing home and
hospice in the town of Ennis, Co. Clare. As a community based charitable organisation our

residents with the highest standards of person centred care.

THE ROLE
We are looking to recruit a Person in Charge/General Manager who is experienced and will
be self-motivated to direct and manage the organisation.
Reporting to the Board of Directors and supported by a strong clinical team, including a
Director of Nursing, the General Manager will oversee the day to day operations of the
centre in accordance with company standards, mission statement, vision and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake the role and responsibilities of the Person in Charge in line with the Health Act
2007, related regulations and HIQA National Quality Standards.
Oversee the organisation, management and operations of all aspects of the organisation on
behalf of the registered provider.
Ensure the organisation operates according to its registration and conditions
Lead, supervise and direct a team of staff to provide the highest quality of care in
accordance with the ethos and values of Cahercalla Community Hospital & Hospice
Contribute to the overall quality of the organisation by developing, reviewing and
implementing policies, strategies and plans to meet the mission statement, regulatory
requirements and residents needs
Control and plan performance against targets and monitor individual department
performances.
Direct and coordinate all health, safety and environmental activities
Appraise regularly the performance and development of all department managers.

Qualifications/Experience
3 rd Level Degree in Nursing or equivalent Health Sector qualification is desirable.
5 years experience in a management capacity in the area of Health and social care
