We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Nursing to take the helm in managing one of their established care home facilities based in Co. Wicklow. The successful candidate will be supported by an ADON, CNMs as well as the Head Office to create a ripe environment for targets to be achieved and the highest standards of practice and resident care upheld.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years Director of Nursing/Person in Charge experience;
Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI);
Demonstrable experience of strategic and clinical leadership adhering to HIQA standards, procedures and guidelines;
Strong financial, budgetary and administrative knowledge;
Demonstrable people management and leadership skills is essential;
Post registration qualification in gerontology and/or dementia care is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented and in practice at all levels of staff throughout the home;
Responsible for providing support and strategic and clinical leadership and direction for nursing and related services which results in the
delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and resident centered nursing care;
Responsible for compliance with all Regulations relevant to our industry;
Responsible for all clinical documentation within the home and ensuring Epicare is always up to date;
Responsible for spot checks and internal audit of documentation in the homes with follow up and action plans arising;
Responsible for driving an environment of continuous improvement and best practice in the home;
Responsible for reviewing and monitoring all complaints and incidents in the homes and preparing and completing all action plans;
Responsible for preparing responses to all correspondence both to and from HIQA in relation to any inspection, incident or complaint for
review by the Director of Care, Quality and Standards;
Responsible for ensuring a broad understanding of the budgets applicable to the home;
Responsible for supporting and cooperating with any reviews etc being carried out on costs within the home;
Responsible for ensuring that all nursing care is individualised and holistic to meet each residents needs and ongoing review and
assessment of this care;
Responsible for full recruitment process and for motivating employees through leadership, communication, empowerment, appropriate
delegation and work allocation and by example.
