An exciting opportunity has become available within Kerry services for a full time Community Support Worker working mainly Monday-Friday, days and evening. This is a 35 hour permanent contract.
What the service is -
Day Service (New Directions) Location in Kerry
Supporting adults with a variety of needs and abilities with their day to day needs, teaching life skills, education, leisure activities, employment etc.
The supports are provided in their own local communities (depending where they live) and in the service location in Kerry
The people accessing the service have physical & sensory, needs, intellectual disabilities, ASD.
What is the Role?
As a Community Support Worker you will provide a professional, high quality and safe service to people with additional needs - You will make sure all of the client's needs are met in a completely individual way.
What is Required? You will have:
Full Drivers Licence is essential
Access to own car
Experience of supporting people in the community and day service environment - desirable
Experience supporting people with ID, ASD and physical % sensory needs - desirable
Skills and interest in the areas of sport, art, landscaping, healthy living etc - welcome
Completed or be willing to complete a Patient Manual Handling course
Completed or be willing to complete a Child Protection course
Eligibility to work in Ireland
A strong sense of empathy, flexibility and a team-oriented work ethic
