TTM Healthcare are presently recruiting for two exciting new positions for our client a well established disability service based in Cork.
Overall Purpose of the DON Post:
• The appointed person will be the Director of Nursing /PPIM in Management ensuring that residential services provided to residents in the centres is of a high quality and maintained as effectively and efficiently as possible within available resources.
• The Director of Nursing/PPIM will be responsible for the overall management oversight of clinical and general services for the residents, in line with Corporate Governance. S/he will provide strategic leadership, operating in accordance with the policies of our client and in collaboration with other professionals and service managers in achieving service goals.
• The Director of Nursing/PPIM has a pivotal role in creating the vision and culture for the service. S/he has overarching responsibility for service planning, co-ordinating and managing activity and resources and will lead the implementation of change. S/he will empower staff to support residents to continue to exercise independence.
• The Director of Nursing/PPIM will be directly responsible for residential services and will line manage the PICs of the units and provide clinical oversight of the nursing service.
• S/he will have a pivotal role in providing leadership for the service.
• The post holder will lead and support the service in response to the emerging needs of an increasing complex population.
• The post holder may be responsible for the Clinical and overall Governance for the residents ensuring patient safety and quality assurance in line with best practice
Experience required:
• Be registered with the NMBI.
• Are educated to Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) in nursing or related field.
• Provide evidence of a postgraduate qualification in health, management or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years' post registration nursing experience and 5 years nursing management experience of which 3 years were at a senior nursing management level including current experience in care of people with disabilities.
Overall Purpose of the CNM3/PIC Post:
Delivery of a high level of effective clinical care and support to Residents in a residential care setting and to promote independence, person centred care and clinical oversight in a homely environment.
The management & development of nurse education & training. The position requires a strategic approach to the development of services & structures embracing continuous quality improvement & management of change to comply with HIQA Standards & Regulations. Also to ensure safety & quality assurance in the service in line with best practice.
Experience required:
• Be registered with the NMBI.
• Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais/ Social Care Qualification
• Provide evidence of a post graduate qualification in health or related field.
• Evidence of nursing experience.
• At least 10 years post qualification
• At least 3 years at CNM 2 or above management level.
• Possess a full clean driver's licence
• Evidence of management experience
