Role: Clinical Specialist Radiographer Safety Officer

TTM Healthcare Solutions are currently recruiting for a Clinical Specialist Radiographer Safety Officer to come and join a forward-thinking private Hospital located in South Dublin
Your hours of work will be spilt between RSO duties and Clinical. As a CSR, you be reporting directly to the Radiology Services Manager
Requirements:
•BSc. in Radiography or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years' experience.
•CORU Registration
Roles and Responsibilities
•The RPO's responsibilities shall include but not be exclusive to the following:
•Ensure that all requirements of the Radiation Safety Procedures are observed in the department in which the RPO is responsible.
•Ensure that every member of staff in the department has read and understood the Radiation Safety Procedures.
•Liaise with the RPA, as required, to comply with IRR19
•Ensure that adequate records are maintained to provide assurance that the hospital complies with the requirements outlined in IRR19 and the EPA licence.
•Oversee the ongoing safe operation of X-ray equipment
•To report to the Radiology Services Manager or RPA any repeated infringement of the Radiation Safety Procedures by members of staff.
•To report to the Radiology Services Manager or RPA, without delay, incidents which may have exposed any person(s) to an unforeseen radiation exposure or any patient to an exposure significantly greater than intended.
•To ensure that, after maintenance or repair, any equipment affecting exposure of patients is checked for correct performance before being put back into use.
•To report to the RPA any deterioration in the state of protection in the department including details of any equipment for protection.
•Examining lead aprons, thyroid shields and lead glasses at regular intervals to ensure their functional integrity and report these results to the Radiology Operations Manager and RPA. Medical Physics and provide an annual report to the RPA and Radiation Safety Committee.
•Ensuring that waste containing radioactive material is disposed of according to current guidelines.
