Our client is the leading independent provider of medical laboratory testing services in Ireland. They offer over 3,500 clinical tests to provide medical professionals with actionable information vital to diagnosing, treating, monitoring, and preventing human disease.
Job Purpose:
Responsible for Management of Microbiology Laboratory and staff, the quality management system in Micro according to ISO 15189, Health and Safety, Departmental Protocols, Risk assessments, staff training and development and approval of laboratory results.
Key Requirements:
• Master's degree in Biomedical Science
• Possess at least 7 years full time clinical experience in Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory as Medical Scientist in Microbiology
• At least 2 years' experience as a Senior Medical Scientist
Duties:
• Assist in the organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the department
• Assist in the completion of the department's daily tasks to a high standard to ensure patient results are delivered in a timely manner.
• Evaluate results and communicate with your Laboratory Services Manager, Consultant Microbiologist and/or requesting clinician any relevant information regarding patient safety.
• Assist with the validations and verifications of new or amended methods/kits/equipment when required.
