Basic Grade Medical Scientist, required by TTM Healthcare, on behalf of one of Ireland's largest acute private hospitals, based in South Dublin.
This is a multidisciplinary post, working between Blood Sciences, Haematology and Biochemistry.
As Multidisciplinary Medical Scientist, you will be responsible for the provision of analytical results with exceptional attention to quality, speed and efficiency in a busy laboratory, monitor and ensure the quality of analyses through active assessment of internal quality control and external quality assessment, participate in the hospital laboratory ISO 15189 quality management system and co-operate and liaise with staff as per the requirements of the service.
Experience in one or all of the following areas is highly desirable:
•Experience with Sysmex XE or XN Haematology, reading and interpreting blood films
•Experience on the Cobas 6000 Biochemistry system
•Experience with APEX Lab Information system
This is a full-time, permanent position, with competitive salary and excellent benefits on offer.
Key Requirements:
•BSc in Biomedical Science - only ACSLM/CORU approved degrees can be considered
•Have at least 1 year post qualification experience as a Medical Scientist in Blood Sciences, Biochemistry or Haematology
•Have an ability to work under pressure, be highly efficient and to meet deadlines
•Have an ability to be flexible to the service requirements including participation in the weekend rotational cover
•Experience in a multi-disciplinary laboratory is desirable
•Experience with Cobas Biochemistry with Roche Cobas biochemistry, and Sysmex Haematology systems
•Experience of Blood Film Interpretation
