Guidance on Identifying Fraudulent Recruitment Messages

17 December 2025

Blank

There has been an increase in fraudulent messages impersonating recruitment agencies.

Reported scams involve unsolicited WhatsApp or email messages claiming to represent a legitimate agency. They offer flexible work-from-home roles with high daily pay (€170–€250), “free training,” and minimal requirements. Tasks are vaguely described, such as product boosting, market research, or reviewing items for major retailers.

How to spot a scam:

- Unsolicited contact via WhatsApp, text message, or email for work you didn’t apply for
- Sender’s number or email is unfamiliar, or email doesn’t match official agency addresses
- Promises of high pay for minimal effort with no proper interview
- Requests for personal information or payment—even small “activation” fees
- Pressure to act quickly or click on unfamiliar links

If you receive a suspicious message:

- Block the sender immediately.
- If someone claims to represent TTM and you’re unsure, verify with us by completing our query form here or calling (065) 686 9300.
