Public transport is easy and convenient too, with Dublin Bus, Luas (tram), and DART (train) all serving the city.

Dublin is lively, historic and cultural, and from the gorgeous Georgian streets, the bridges of the River Liffey, beautiful Trinity College and Dublin Castle – everyone loves the buzz. Dublin is great for shopping, but there are also many lovely green areas too, including Phoenix Park and St. Stephen’s Green. As a multi-cultural city, the food scene in Dublin is fabulous – from cosy traditional pubs to indie coffee shops, cafes and a great night-life scene. There’s a real love for the arts in Dublin, with world class theatre shows, arena music concerts and festivals.

The suburbs and towns around Dublin city are great places to live. Residential towns like Tallaght and Blanchardstown are on the commuter belt and have plenty of shopping and sports facilities, while areas in the south such as Dún Laoghaire, Dalkey, and Blackrock are coastal havens – great to escape to for a seafront walk. Beach life is never far away either – with Sandymount, Portmarnock and Killiney just outside the city.

Weekly groceries cost about €60–€100 per person and eating out in a pub costs around €12–€20 for a main meal.
