TTM are recruiting a for an experience Deputy Team Leader in one of Ireland's Leading organisation in Cork City with an Immediate Start.

Job Summary:
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Social Care workers who have previous experience as a Deputy Team Leader or in a Senior role to work alongside people with intellectual disabilities.

This role will support the core members and provide continuity for them and will assist the House leader in the tasks outlined below. On occasions when the House leader is unable to attend a meeting/task you will be asked to deputise for them, (for example if the HL is on holidays, sick etc).


Job Role/Duties
• Assist and support assistants to develop relationships with the Core Members and accompany them in a positive and meaningful way. Ensure that core members are involved in all aspects of their home.
• Ensure that support of the core member occurs in line with the HIQA standards
• Ensure a high quality of support to the core members which is in line with the HIQA regulations and goes beyond this to ensure the core members have a fulfilling lives.
• Supporting the Core Members to develop the personal skills that will enable them to take as much responsibility as possible for their own lives and their homes and foster their dignity, self esteem and autonomy.
• Ensures that assistants follow up and support Core Members in those responsibilities.
• Ensuring that there is good communication of community and house information and that it is understood.
• Ensuring that Core Members have communication boards and that they participate in their update and understand the symbols.
• Provides opportunities for growth by supporting choice and helping and providing information to make their decisions.
• Provides and supervises the use of the Communication Diaries.
• Maintain all documentation in line with HIQA standards
• Documenting all accidents/ incidents.
• Reporting of all accidents/incidents/Doctor and Specialist attendances.
• Ensure good records are kept in the areas of :
-Care plans and PCP's and the update of these
-Money
-Medical care
-Personal history/Important events in their lives
-Risk management


Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
  • Each candidate must have a relevant professional qualification in either a Health or Social Care sector, i.e. an RNID/RGN qualification or a relevant qualification in Social Care.
  • Knowledge and a minimum of two (2) years' experience of working with people with an intellectual disability and managing people's well-being using an evidence based approach to person centred planning
  • A good understanding of HIQA requirements and an in-depth knowledge of the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities and The Health Act 2007 (Care and Support of Residents in Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults with Disabilities) Regulations 2013 is essential
  • Those filling the roles will demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities
  • A full clean driving license is essential for both roles.
