THE OPPORTUNITY:
Social Care Team Leader - South Louth CAMHS Team, Drogheda

ASAP start, 12-month contract initially


THE BACKGROUND:

At TTM Healthcare we are proud to have partnered with CAMHS - the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team responsible for providing assessment and intervention to children and adolescents (up to 18 years of age) and their families, where the young person is presenting with Mental Health difficulties.

The service is provided by a multidisciplinary team led by a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. Other disciplines include nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and social care.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall responsibility within this role will be to

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and intervention with young people and their families.
• Liaise with other relevant statutory and voluntary services.
• Treat children/young people and their families with dignity and respect, promoting a culture of unconditional positive regard at all times.
• Ensure clinical records are properly and accurately maintained and that appropriate statistical information is provided,
• Seek the advice of relevant personnel as required.
• Take an active role in supervision in accordance with the local/national supervision policy.
• Provide supervision to Social Care Worker staff as appropriate.
• Contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming, safe, caring, stable and therapeutic environment.
• Plan, implement and evaluate care plans, as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the written and verbal reporting of general and individual treatment programmes.
• Recognise children/young people as expert through experience, promoting their participation in care planning, decision-making and service delivery.
• Develop an understanding of how previous life experiences impact on children/young people and incorporate this into their practice.
• Work in partnership with the parent, family and other agencies on behalf of the child/young person. Participate in meetings in relation to the young person/child.
• Work as a key worker for the child/young person as required. Be a positive role model for the children/young people.
• Attend court if required.
• Attend a range of meeting including case conferences as required.
• Accept any responsibilities in relation to children/young people as agreed within the multidisciplinary team and to undertake individual and group work with these young people.
• Keep the Principal Social Worker fully informed and up to date on all significant matters.
• Perform other duties as appropriate to the role as may be assigned by the Principal Social Worker.


THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the role, you will need:

• Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Care Studies awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications) or the National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies awarded by HETAC / DIT.
• Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Social Care awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications) or the Diploma in Social Care awarded by HETAC / DIT .
• . Ordinary Bachelor's Degree in Social Care Practice awarded by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
• 3 years' experience of working with children and young people In crisis.
• Demonstrate an interest in/experience of working In the area of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, as relevant to the role.
• A suitable standard pf professional attainments.
• Demonstrate the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
• Access to a car and full drivers' licence.
