Person in Charge, Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities.

Location: Sligo
Contract: Full-time permanent (40hrs per week)
Salary: €45k Plus

TTM Healthcare are proud to have partnered with a leading community based residential service for children and young adults with disabilities, located in Sligo. This service operates a model where community integration is highly valued within their model of care. All of our Clients' services operate with a specific purpose and function and cater for different age groups of children and young adults with varying levels of need from autism to intellectual and or physical disability. They have an available opportunity for a Person In Charge (PIC) with excellent skills and experience in management.

The PIC is responsible for the management of the house within their responsibility under the guidance of the Director of Services. Ensuring the implementation of care, education and safety of each young person with an intellectual disability in a 24 hour setting in accordance with HIQA regulations and the statement of purpose and function.

Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that an environment is created that is conducive to the wellbeing of the residents and staff.
  • To ensure high standards of professional care are maintained at all times.
  • Initiating, maintaining and co-ordinating care, training, treatment and education programmes for young people.
  • Undertaking all aspects of home management and ensuring all staff are familiar with HIQA regulations and prepared for announced or unannounced inspections.
  • Ensuring that the service users attend at the appropriate education at the time stipulated; to report on progress of training, when required.
  • Participating in in-service training and attending professional meetings as required.

Requirements:
  • Minimum Ordinary degree QQI Level 7 in Social Care
  • Have an appropriate health/Social Care Management Qualification at a minimum of QQI Level 6
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in a Team Leader/ Management role
  • Full clean driver's license is essential and access to own transport
