Our Client a provider of the highest quality of residential care is now hiring a Nurse Practice Development Coordinator to join their team.

*Excellent Remuneration *25 Days Annual Leave

The Practice Development Coordinator will manage and develop the Nurse Practice Development Department, inclusive of any staff assigned to the department in future. Lead the development of excellence in nurse practice to ensure safe and quality resident care. Lead and manage the assignment and placement of nurses across their Care Homes. This post will be predominantly (70%) Dublin based.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years relevant Practice Development experience is desirable;
Assistant Director of Nursing/CNM experience is essential;
Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI);
Demonstrable clinical and professional ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills;
Working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures and guidelines;
Full clean, Irish driving license essential;
Must be eligible to work in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and manage a new Care Homes Nurse Practice Development Programme and activities which will, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate nurse practice in all homes and promote an environment for professional nursing practice and an environment of quality and safe care;
Provide a professional role model which is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic direction of the organization;
Manage the nursing service quality assurance programmes to meet standards for quality assured and safe care;
Ensuring newly employed nurses are provided with optimal learning environments;
Implement an annual nurse practice development programme throughout the organisation and monitor its effectiveness;
Liaise with HR to shortlist candidates for all nursing vacancies;
Lead all nursing interviews with all overseas candidates;
Provide leadership on quality and safety issues and manage and implement an annual nursing service practice development and improvement plan;
Co-ordinate associated monitoring/audit mechanisms with particular reference to measuring nursing related resident safety, satisfaction and outcomes;
Conduct regular education and training needs assessment for the nursing workforce;
Provide the necessary information for nurse management to permit the determination of the appropriate skill/grade mix;
Support head office staff in formulating evidence-based policies, protocols, guidelines and procedures that will ensure that the highest standard of resident focused nursing care is provided within available resources;
Ensure all Policies, procedures and Guidelines for the nursing department are reviewed in accordance with standard operating procedure;
Set achievable, safe standards of nursing care across the broad spectrum of resident categories and collaborate with multidisciplinary approaches to standard setting;
Provide in conjunction with HR department an induction and development programmes for newly appointed staff and ensure compliance with the Care Home policy and procedures achieve competency;
Evaluate existing nursing records and documentation throughout all the Care Homes and where necessary implement changes which meet legal requirements and facilitates best practice in recording standard;
