ANNUAL LEAVE:23 Days Holidays
SALARY : €65K
HOURS:(9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday) Flexibility to work overtime, nights and weekends if required during busy periods
LOCATION:Dublin


MANAGERIALLY ACCOUNTABLE TO :Director of Nursing and Group Operations Manager
PROFESSIONALLY ACCOUNTABLE TO : Group Operations Manager


JOB SUMMARY:

The job holder should be a qualified nurse and registered with the NMBI with an up to date PIN number. As a member of the clinical governance team, he/she will be responsible for the Groups bed occupancy.

The Bed Manager is responsible for sourcing and coordinating appropriate resident admissions to ensure full occupancy across the Group.
They will develop good working relationships with DONs/ADONs and with their external referral agents. (Hospitals & the HSE)

Specific Responsibilities :

Promote the Group to a wide range of external referral agents.
Work closely with hospital discharge planners, physicians and our Directors of Nursing to generate referrals.
Maintain a positive working relationship with assigned hospitals.
Ensure distribution of marketing materials to promote all our nursing homes.
Develop and enhance marketing material where required.
Provide initial and ongoing assessments of patients in hospitals.
Ensure the correct and appropriate placement of any hospital referrals.
Ensure all resident admissions documentation is completed.
Work with each DON to ensure full occupancy in each home
Generate weekly update reports on occupancy, waiting lists, enquiries and admissions.
Enhance current process and policies in relation to admissions.



Clinical Responsibilities :-

The post holder will be expected to regularly communicate with the DONs and support them in co-ordinating the admission and transfer of patients.
The job holder should have a hands on' approach in assessing and evaluating patients prior to arranging admission to one of our nursing homes.
The job holder will maintain a flexible approach to working hours in order to meet the needs of the nursing homes.

NMBI Registration:

The maintenance of registration with the NMBI is a requirement of this role. Job holders are expected to comply with the NMBI Code of Professional Conduct and other guidelines issued by the NMBI governing professional practice.

Qualifications and Experience :

Registered nurse.
Previous experience working in nursing homes at CNM level or above.
Ideally previous experience working as a Bed Manager in a hospital or nursing home group or have pre-admission assessment experience.
Excellent IT skills.
Sales and marketing experience desirable.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong Confident Personality who can deal with Management and demands that the role will bring on a daily basis.
