TTM Healthcare are currently recruiting an Admission Liaison Nurse for the South Dublin area.
The role of the Bed Liaison Nurse is a key position in one of Irelands leading nursing home providers. The primary responsibility of the role is to maximise bed occupancy in each of the client's homes, by developing an efficient process from inquiry to admission, and demonstrating the high level of care and service offered, through timely and professional follow up with prospective residents and their families.
This is essentially a commercial role that involves close working relationships with the nursing management in each home and direct contact with prospective residents of the home and their families. Additional close working relationships will be required with key stakeholders including referring hospitals and healthcare facilities
Essential Criteria
•The successful candidate would have the necessary commercial skills and experience arising from working in the Healthcare Sector.
•Be a qualified nurse with an Active NMBI Registration.
•Have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements as they pertain to residential care centres.
•Have the ability to manage one's own workload effectively while responding to new demands at short notice.
•Demonstrate an ability to embrace change and be committed to continuous improvement.
•Have marketing skills and experience and the ability to build constructive relationships with potential residents, their families, and referring organisations.
•Be available to work flexible hours when required.
•Ideally based in South County Dublin
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•Implement plans and programs to maximise bed occupancy for their Leinster Homes and work with Directors of Nursing to ensure that goals and objectives are properly defined, clearly established, and ultimately achieved.
•Maximise revenue opportunities by ensuring a robust process to manage enquiries to admission, to ensure residents are registered accurately and timely, educating residents about their rights/responsibilities and individual financial obligations, and monitoring effectiveness of revenue collection efforts.
•Assess and review Short-Term Care and Long-Term Care resident referrals to determine clinical appropriateness for potential admission.
•Identify clinical needs/requirements for admission and communicate to the Nursing home team as appropriate.
•Together with the Director of Nursing for each home, assess potential residents to ensure a full and thorough understanding of the residents' health and social needs.
•Together with the Director of Nursing for each home, ensure that the relevant Home is positioned to provide the care required for the potential resident from a clinical and social perspective.
•Implement marketing initiatives to promote the groups to referring hospitals, healthcare facilities, and local community groups.
•Develop strong relationships with referring groups.
•Communicate openly and clearly with the Provider, Director of Quality and Innovation, Directors of Nursing, and nurse management in the groups homes to ensure that there is a seamless transition for the resident to their new home.
•Maximise bed occupancy through managing a daily log of bed vacancies, planned admissions, and waiting lists.
•Attend and participate in regular management meetings in both Head Office and in the Homes.
•Deliver regular reporting on projected occupancy levels
