TTM Healthcare are working in tandem with SOS Kilkenny to resource for them an Assistant Director of Service.
SOS Kilkenny clg provides a lifetime commitment to adults with intellectual disabilities. In the 1960s, a group of parents and friends of people with learning disabilities came together, to provide work, accommodation and care in a sheltered environment. The group was formally constituted in 1975 and SOS Kilkenny Ltd was established. SOS stands for Special Occupation Scheme.
SOS Kilkenny clg has grown rapidly in the last number of years and today, SOS Kilkenny provides Day, Residential and Autism Specific services. There are over 300 employees providing services in Kilkenny city and county to 200 vulnerable adults. SOS Kilkenny is a Section 39 organisation.
Reporting into the Director of Service the position will have responsibility over all of the organisations Residential Services.
The organisation also have 2 other Assistant Directors responsible for Day Services and High support services respectively with identical reporting structures to the director of Service.
Residential Services provide support to people across 19 community houses which are in 13 HIQA designated centres and also provide respite care. In addition, a number of people are supported in independent living in houses which are not registered. Residential staff consist of Residential Managers, Team Leaders, Social Care Leaders, Social Care Workers and Care Assistants. Across all residential services, SOS employs approximately 170 dedicated staff.
The Role of Assistant Director of Services - Residential
SOS Kilkenny clg is searching for a dynamic leader to provide direction to a team of experienced, dedicated, developmental disability professionals; providing them with leadership, clinical and administrative supervision, technical assistance and support. The ADOS will work with staff, director of services and the leadership team to plan, develop, direct and support residential services for adults with intellectual and/or related developmental disabilities.
The ADOS must possess a grounded yet flexible leadership style, be highly organised, able to adapt to a changing work environment, and stay abreast of multiple new initiatives and developments. The ADOS will provide proactive senior management and leadership across residential services, manage special projects, and ensure the implementation of all SOS Kilkenny clg policies and strategic plans.
Education and Qualifications
Be registered in the Intellectual Disability Division and/or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered and have had satisfactory Intellectual Disability services Clinical Management experience .
Candidates must hold a recognised qualification in management practice and ideally have undertaken further training appropriate to the post including clinical and/or intellectual disability management.
