TTM Healthcare have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist in Galway.
The successful applicant will be required to provide a range of psychological services to children and their families within an inter/trans-disciplinary team model. This includes assessment, programme development, behaviour management, diagnostics and ongoing service delivery.

Overview of Duties:
To provide a range of psychological services as required in partnership with children and families including assessment, diagnostics and ongoing intervention.
Demonstrate a range of clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of the relevant caseload.
Plan and organize individual and group caseloads, to include assessments, interventions and diagnosis.
To work as part of the inter/transdisciplinary team providing services to children and families in the area and to consult with team in reaching clinical decisions. To support parents through the application of individual and group based interventions
Participate in training initiatives for Enable Ireland staff.
Contribute towards the ongoing development of the service in Galway including participation in the evaluation of the service and in research initiatives.
Work in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of services for children and to keep the Manager informed of changing, new and emerging need of service users.
Communicate effectively with parents of children attending the service.
Make decisions in a transparent manner by involving and empowering others where appropriate.
Attend and actively contribute to relevant clinical, professional and service meetings.
To take responsibility with management for: - Policy development - The maintenance and replacement of team equipment and stock.
To monitor and keep up-to-date with developments in psychology, early intervention, including attending training courses and participating in research.
To maintain quality standards and participate in quality developments.
Maintain statistical records and provide information for service planning to management as required
To develop and maintain good working relationships with personnel from the HSE and other agencies so as to promote a seamless service to families.
With the team, maintain statistical records and provide budget submissions, annual reports and other relevant reports as required.
To provide supervision to basic grade staff as appropriate and supervise students as required.
Carry out any managerial duties assigned and appropriate to the grade
To comply with policies and procedures of the service.
To promote and deliver services within the ethos and philosophy of Enable Ireland.
Perform any other duties appropriate to the position from time to time.
Have a recognised university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in the subject AND a recognised postgraduate professional qualification in clinical, counselling or educational psychology or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
Have at least five years' satisfactory postgraduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist.
Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years' experience requirement. Applicants with clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings, for the areas of which they wish to apply - Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, Adult Psychology either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.
Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings for the areas for which they wish to apply Child Disability, Child Psychology either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist
Previous psychology experience working with children. Specific training in assessment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and/or specific training in assessment of intellectual disabilities.

The above eligibility criteria apply without prejudice to applicants employed in a post of Basic Grade Psychologist or above in the Irish public health service at October 2012
Involvement in Research
Relevant training in areas specific to therapeutic interventions for children 0- 18 years
Salary ranges from €75,000 to €85,000
