Assistant Director of Nursing - Step Down Facility - Co. Dublin
Our Client one of the largest independent Healthcare providers of quality nursing home care in Ireland is actively looking to recruit an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for their Short Stay Community Hospital based in South Dublin.
This community hospital offers round the clock nursing care and treatments appropriate to the patients condition. Dedicated on-site medical doctor with Consultant support to ensure that your medication, physiotherapy and medical care are optimised. A short stay in this Hospital offers the patients comprehensive nursing and medical care, but in a more comfortable and homely environment.
The 65 bed specialist facility is dedicated to helping older patients recover from their stay in hospital in a warm, comfortable and compassionate setting. Patient rooms are fully equipped to allow you to deal with any mobility restrictions you may have following your illness.
Following treatment in an acute hospital it is often necessary for older patients to spend a further period recovering, particularly following surgery, major illnesses and accidents. When this recovery period requires ongoing medical monitoring, rehabilitation or re-enablement, The Community Hospital is there to help patients with their expressed desire to make a speedy recover and return home.
Position of Assistant Director of Nursing:-
The appointee will undertake the role and responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing. Accontable to the Director of Nursing, the successful applicant will be required to provide and manage a professional care and nursing service while actively contributing to the development of the Nursing Home, its residents and staff.
The successful applicant:-
Must be a registered nurse (on, or eligible to be on, the live register of nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, NMBI.
Must have 5 years relevant post registration nursing experience.
Must possess management/supervisory experience, including team leadership with resource planning and allocation.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, relatives/visitors, employees, management and external bodies e.g. GPs, hospitals, HSE, HIQA, etc.
Post-registration qualification in Gerontology or Dementia Care and / or a Post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent will be an advantage. In the absence of such a qualification, the appointee will be required to undertake such training.
