Community Outreach Worker
We are recruiting for part time ( 20HR) Community Outreach worker for a Homeless charity in Dublin to support and develop relationships with their tenants and key stakeholders, ensuring tenants are supported through application, tenancy and move-on.  
 
Priorities include:
Providing visiting support to tenants in their home
Developing, monitoring and measuring personal support plans
Developing relationships with tenants to be housed or those currently in tenancies.
Developing the knowledge to provide housing information, advice and advocacy.
To keep accurate records of all tenant correspondence
Contributing to the development of systems of referral, practice and accurate record keeping within Stepping Stone
To recruit, train, support and guide Stepping Stone volunteers in their work with tenants as necessary
To undertake such duties as may be assigned by the CEO.
 
Property Management
Take and record meter readings and transfer utilities on move-in
Compile inventory for each property and report on condition on move-in (to include photos) and move out
Regular property inspections ensuring we adhere to RTB regulations and property is maintained in good condition
Record and deal with maintenance issues that arise
Coordinate with tradesmen as needed once repairs approved
Services involving a third party
Complete, copy and submit HAP applications
Liaise with tenant support services as required
Arrange a utility bond as needed (INTREO)
 
The ideal person:
Must be committed to, and passionate about, working with people and empowering them to overcome the issues they are faced with.
Will have strong verbal and written communication skills
Will have knowledge of the needs of those experiencing homelessness, unemployment, mental health issues and interpersonal difficulties.
Has the ability to work alone and on own initiative.
Is able to manage hours effectively and around tenants needs. Though not envisaged to be a regular requirement, some unsocial hours may be necessary.
Will be suitably professionally qualified and experienced in appropriate disciplines, e.g. support planning, social care, housing services.
An understanding of the Private Rented and Social Housing Sector is desirable
Have their own transport though this is not essential.
