Senior Medical Scientist (IT Co-Ordinator), required by TTM Healthcare, on behalf of a prestigious private hospital, based in South Dublin.

As Senior Medical Scientist (IT Co-Ordinator), you will be assisting in the expansion of the IT programme within the Pathology Department and participate as required in developing the laboratory information system relevant to Pathology Laboratory activities.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, assisting in writing and maintaining procedures relating to IT, training and development of staff in relation to IT, applying and implementing operational procedures up to “best practice” standard in order to optimise use of resources, assisting in the maintenance of a quality management programme and be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and oversight of IT deliverables in association with the Laboratory Manager.

You will also be required to perform scientific work as determined by the Laboratory Manager, and participate in the departmental ‘on call’ rota if required.

Key Requirements:
• BSc and MSc in Biomedical Science - only ACSLM/CORU approved degrees can be considered
• FACSLM membership or be eligible for membership
• Some experience and a keen interest in IT is essential
• Relevant post-qualification experience working as a Medical Scientist (minimum 3-4 years)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in Meditech is desired, but other LIMs will also be considered
• Be familiar with IT packages supporting office and laboratory service
