Care Leavers Ireland

TTM Healthcare’s own charity, Care Leavers Ireland, assists young people leaving residential care in the pursuit of their educational goals. Transitioning from the care environment to independent living is challenging and there is no statutory entitlement to aftercare services in Ireland. A registered charity, Care Leavers provides grant funding to enable these young people to continue their education and secure a brighter future.

“Applying to Care Leavers Ireland was an easy task, the team helped me throughout my application and I received regular updates. I was awarded money to get myself onto a FETAC Level 5 course which I am nearly finished and I have recently applied to go onto third level in September.

The assistance I received from Care Leavers Ireland has afforded me the opportunity to move towards third level education and the chance to improve my life.” Shane

Getting my laptop from Care Leavers Ireland has really helped me with my college work. Because of this I have now presented presentations and assignments which made me pass my Fetac Level 5 in Animal Healthcare and I am now moving forward to the career I have always wanted.” Nathan

In August 2014, Care Leavers Ireland launched a pilot partnership with Camara, a not for profit organisation using technology to improve education and livelihood skills in disadvantaged communities. Care Leavers purchased 100 laptops from Camara. These laptops are given to vulnerable young people to allow them complete their college and course work.
